Johnnie L. Jenkins, III

The Jenkins Center for Evaluation / Counseling / Advocacy

Mr. Jenkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1999, a Registered Play Therapist since 2008, and a Certified Professional Clinical Supervisor since 2014.  Mr. Jenkins practices individual/family/ couples counseling from a Cognitive Behavioral Theoretical Orientation.   In his capacity as an LPC, he practices private counseling at The Jenkins Center for Evaluation/Counseling/ Advocacy, P.C. located at 1871 Washington Road, Suite, 4 East Point , GA 30344.   In addition to private counseling he is a contractor at agencies that provide therapy services for family and children with open Department of Family and Children’s Service cases.  Mr. Jenkins is also a Professor at Argosy University since 2008.  As of August 1, 2015 he also was appointed Chair of the Human Services Department. 


Mr. Jenkins has extensive experience working in higher education as a Student Counselor at the Morehouse School of Medicine.  Mr. Jenkins has over 10 year of experience conducting crisis evaluations.  Mr. Jenkins regularly lectures on Play Therapy and Legislative Advocacy for counselors.  He holds memberships in the American Counseling Association, the Association for Play Therapy, the Licensed Professional Counselor Association of Georgia, and the Georgia Association for Play Therapy.  


Mr. Jenkins’s educational background includes the degrees: Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from Mercer University in Macon, GA in 1991and a Masters of Arts Degree in Psychology with a Specialty in Counseling for the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in 1997.  Mr. Jenkins is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy from Walden University.
