What does the registration fee include?

The registration fee includes all plenary sessions and workshops, Sunday worship service, party with DJ on Saturday night, snacks on Friday night, continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, Saturday lunch, and Sunday brunch.

What does registration not include?

The registration fee does not include hotel room, Date Night dinner on Saturday, date night activities, or counseling sessions

Do you have a payment plan?

There is no payment plan.  You may pay in as many installments as you like (up until the first day of the retreat) until the total fee is paid. 

Does registration include the hotel room?

The registration does not include the hotel room. Make your reservations by calling the Crowne Plaza Atlanta SW – Peachtree City, GA directly.

How much is the hotel room?

The hotel room is $119 per room/night. This special rate is available until 8/14/18 so book your rooms now.  

Do I have to stay at the hotel?

We highly recommend that you stay at the hotel so you can leave outside distractions and focus on your marriage; however. it is not required.

Are meals included in the registration?

Yes. Friday night snacks, continental breakfast on Saturday, Saturday lunch, and Sunday lunch are included in the registration fee. Saturday date night meal is not included.

What is your cancellation policy?

The Heart of Marriage makes significant financial commitments based upon event registrations. Therefore, a $75.00 non-refundable deposit is included in the program registration fee. If you should need to cancel your registration, a full refund, minus the deposit, will be refunded. There are no refunds for registrations canceled 30 days or less prior to the event. If you are unable to attend this event, please utilize the ministry opportunity to offer your registration to another couple who may not otherwise be able to attend.

Is financial assistance available?

We offer limited financial assistance for the registration fee. Applications for assistance are considered on an individual basis.  Each applicant is required to pay some portion of the total fees. The couple must contact coupleswhocare@yahoo.com to determine if they meet all of the financial assistance qualifications.



Do I have to attend all sessions?

We encourage couples to make the investment by attending all sessions to receive the full benefit of the retreat. If your schedules do not allow you to attend all sessions, attend as many as you can.

What are the hours for the Heart of Marriage Retreat weekend?

Scheduled times are: Friday night: 7:00pm – 11:00pm.  Saturday: 8:00am-5:30pm. Sunday 9:30am – noon.

Saturday night is open for you and your spouse to enjoy time together.  You may make plans on your own or you may take advantage of several date night activities.  Sunday morning activities start at 9:30 am with Praise and Worship and it ends around noon with a Marriage Re-dedication Ceremony followed by brunch.



Can same-sex couples attend the Heart of Marriage Retreat?

The Heart of Marriage Retreat is committed to providing guidance to healthy and struggling marriages.  Our approach is governed by our understanding of the Word of God and aligns with The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church where the institution of marriage is defined as being between one man and one woman. This weekend’s activities have been developed based on these principles and our presenters have been selected with this in mind. 

Is this retreat for engaged and or dating couples?

The retreat is for married couples only.

Why do we need to attend?

This weekend will engage couples in an intimate and relaxing atmosphere while equipping them with the tools necessary to strengthen their marriages and enrich their lives. At the Heart of Marriage Retreat, couples are challenged to strengthen communication, address financial planning, foster greater intimacy, resolve conflict in the relationship, and learn to express forgiveness towards one another. Couples leave the Heart of Marriage Retreat with practical skills and techniques that will enrich their lives.

We have been before. Why should we attend again?

Each time you attend the retreat, you are in a different season in your marriage. You will hear things you didn’t hear last time and you will gain something new and different each time you attend.

Can we come for one day?

To receive the full benefit of the retreat we encourage married couples to attend the entire weekend. If for some reason at this time your schedules do not allow, you can attend one or two days. There is no special pricing for partial attendance.

Are children allowed in the sessions?

The Heart of Marriage Retreat cares deeply about families but in order to keep your weekend free of distractions, children are not allowed in the sessions and childcare is not provided. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact us at coupleswhocare@yahoo.com

What are the benefits of attending the retreat?

Retreating with your spouse provides an opportunity for you all to get away from the distractions of life, spend quality time together, and make lasting memories. The retreat will provide the opportunity to talk about things you would not otherwise discuss that are important for developing your relationship. You will also be able to meet other couples who are in the same or similar situations, listen to gifted speakers and learn proven tools and methods to help strengthen your marriage and help you to realize that you are not alone.

What is the Heart of Marriage Retreat?

Great marriages don’t just happen. Couples create them! All marriages need attention, effort, and nurturing. The Heart of Marriage Retreat provides an opportunity for you to explore your relationship together and find ways to make it more fulfilled and stronger for a lifetime.

When is The Retreat?

September 14-16, 2018

Where is the retreat?

The year’s retreat will take place at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta SW – Peachtree City, Georgia located 20 minutes south of the airport. 

How much is the retreat?

The standard registration fee is $405 per couple. There is a discounted registration fee of $350 if you pay it in full before July 1. Installment payments can be made. The registration covers the cost of all retreat materials the Friday night reception, Saturday breakfast and lunch, and Sunday Lunch.  You will need to reserve and pay for your hotel room separately (special conference room rate is $119 per night).  You will also need to cover your Saturday night meal and date night.

Do you provide counseling at the retreat?

Yes. We do provide a limited number of private counseling sessions for the attendees for $25 per couple. Details will be shared at a later date.
